On the recently set up "Stone Crayfish Path", explorers of all ages can observe Stone Crayfish, which have become quite rare in modern-day Europe. Wooden pathways, bridges and small viewing platforms permit deep insights into the natural habitat of the reddish yellow crayfish, which live behind rocks and roots. Using a flashlight, visitors have the opportunity to watch the one or other crayfish moving along stones and sand close to the shore. Weirerbach creek is the last refuge in Carinthia of the Stone Crayfish, which is threatened by extinction.
