Scenic bicycle trails (see bike guide), often with steep uphill climbs and rapid descents, lead cyclists along Millstätter Alm to various points of interest ... there are, of course, many rest stops along the way serving specialities such as tangy alpine cheese and oven fresh bread to panoramic views of Lake Millstätter See and the Hohe Tauern.
Overview Lake Millstätter See cycling trail
Start/Finish: optimally Seeboden, Millstatt or Döbriach Length | Duration: 27.9 km | 3 hours Altitude metres: 255 m
Lakeside cycle route around Lake Millstätter See. Practiced cyclists complete the 28 kilometres in two hours – and generally miss all the character of the new cycle trail. On the cycle route around Millstatt Lake you will experience an encounter with all your senses: seeing, feeling, smelling, hearing and even tasting. It’s worth taking your time.
Tip: Cycle Ferry "Peter Pan". Those who find the full 28 km distance too great have the option of covering part of the distance by ship.
HIDDEN PLACES Little lake Egelsee, situated on the high ridge between Lake Millstätter See and the Lower Drau Valley, offers a special contact with the lake. The "Moor Jewel" can be reached easily from the Lake Millstätter See cycle track.
Bikers are welcomed in the numerous bars, inns, restaurants and Buschenschenken along the cycle tracks which offer specialities of the region. Moreover, service areas, bike rentals, guided bike tours etc. can be found around Lake Millstätter See.
