Herz-Jesu-Kirche

The basilica was built according to plans by Hilde von Baravalle and Max Wochinz in 1951/52 as the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for Peace and Reconciliation and is in the neo-Romanesque tradition of the early 20th century. It has been a parish since 1964. The mighty tower at the side of the entrance is visible from afar. Inside, the long building has a flat roof and creates a bright, spacious impression. The chancel is just closed. Murals by Peter Brandstätter on the altar wall and the ceiling paintings (Christian symbols) by Hilde von Baravalle from 1952.
