Through the Kleinelendtal and to the Schwarzhorn lakes (2642m)

Parking lot at the Kölbreinsperre: a hustle and bustle. But it soon becomes quieter. When we branch off into the Elendtal after about half an hour, we are almost alone. A few cows, then we enjoy the path as it meanders gently uphill into increasingly barren terrain. The surrounding glacier (remnants) are close enough to touch. At the top, the view opens up: the upper Schwarzhornsee glistens in the sun in front of us, the Hochalmspitze rises majestically in the background.
