Kirche 'Maria Himmelfahrt' zu Lieseregg

The church was built in 975 by the diocese of Freising (Bavaria). Around 1000, it came under the rule of the Counts of Lurn and finally, in 1149, to the Archbishopric of Salzburg by will. In 1516 it came under the sovereignty of the Knights of St. George in Millstatt and after their dissolution in 1598 to the Jesuits. In 1775, Lieseregg and the Millstatt district were incorporated into the diocese of Gurk and ten daughter churches were assigned to it.
