Spittl

In the style of a Renaissance palace with an arcaded courtyard, this former hospice is one of the most remarkable buildings in the city. Only the needy and those passing through were given board and lodging here. Written hospital regulations (1654) with service instructions for the care of the inmates still provide an insight into the meagre lifestyle of that time. Today it is the seat of the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences.
