• Level of difficulty: nine routes from levels 3-8 and 25 sports climbing routes from levels 4-8
• Directions: All nine routes are secured with bolts. The via ferrata “Luft unter den Sohlen” is the most difficult climbing route in Carinthia and is secured with a wire rope (diameter: 12 mm). The routes are all equipped with the most modern materials (adhesive hooks, expansion hooks, abseil ing and abseil hooks) according to the latest safety guidelines. The individual routes are signposted, both on the wall and at the access points.
• History: Even 40 years ago, the Breitwand climbing wall was climbed by locals using the most basic means. The old type of hooks, which still needed to be pegged into the rock, were gradually replaced by bolts. The ascents and descents were set up with love and care by volunt eers. Due to its sunny location, the Breitwand climbing wall is accessible from spring to late autumn.
